The Crayola Experience is a pretty unknown attraction in Orlando, I had thought it was because it was not a good activity, but when I visited with my family in January 2023 I was very pleased to learn it is great! And you should go here. I think the best part about this place is it is fun for all ages. I had just as much fun as my four and five year old sons. As always, I have zero affiliation with this place and no one paid me to go have fun here.

Maybe one of the reasons people don’t visit here is that it is located in the Orlando mall, which definitely had an apocalyptic vibe when we arrived. We arrived right as it opened at 10am to an empty parking lot with random pieces of trash blowing around. I remained nervous this was going to be terrible, and then worried again when the cost for our family of four was about $120 (It's $28.99 per person for ages 3+ but you can get a small discount if you buy tickets online in advance)… then we entered.

Favorite Exhibits:

Make your own personalized crayon- this was my favorite. While you do not make your own crayon you do design and name the crayon wrapper. So you can put your name on it, make up a color, and add symbols.

Make your own car/emoji- at this station you pick a crayon color and then place it into a machine and close the door and watch as your melted crayon fills the metal mold of your choosing (emojis or race cars). Our boys wanted the race car molds and we made several of them.

Color your own picture: There is a station where you take a selfie of yourself with different background options and print it out to color. This was fun and a great keepsake.

Crayon Splatter Art: Here you pick two crayon colors and then you control the speed of your paper spin while your crayons drip onto your masterpiece. The process and final product are both fun.

There are several other exhibits and we admittedly did not do them all. We were there for two solid hours and I think it would have been three if we did every exhibit. They have a snack station and a full food court here as well. So you can easily make this a full day activity.

They have two playground areas, one for toddlers 3 and under and one for 4+ and our boys did not want to leave either playground. We kept having to pull them away to continue on to the exhibits. They do have benches so if you are a more chill parent you can just sit and relax while the kids play (I personally could not wait to get to the melted crayon exhibits just beyond the playground areas).

Giftshop: This was actually a super fun experience as well. They have an entire wall of many different crayon colors and you can buy a tin box that you can fill to the top with any crayon or marker colors you like. They also have useful, fun coloring kits, books, markers, etc. that I don’t feel as guilty spending money on since the kids will certainly use them and one of my boys loves to color.
